A nice conversation between Kees van Weijen and Bas Westerweel about Ramses Shaffy, INXS and Caro Emerald. They discuss how independent music labels are the breeding ground for talent.

Worldwide independents are responsible for 80% of all music productions. According to Kees, the consequences of the crisis will be felt for at least another year. In the emergency measures for the cultural sector, ‘music’ is not mentioned. Kees therefore argues for a more lenient regime for VAT levy and relaxation of the regulations for small musicians and lyricists. – WATCH VIDEO
